Nevins Trophy

Summary

Saturday, October 16:

My apologies for late summary, I went home without the breakdown and protest forms.

The 18 teams at the 2021 Nevins Trophy Regatta were treated to a very typical October KP Day...except is was warm! Winds from the South ranged from 12 to 22 knots with gusts into the upper 20's! The fleet managed the conditions well, and both the 420's and FJ's raced with minimal breakdowns and capsizes. There was one protest resulting in a DSQ and three BKDs awarded. Thanks to Judge Woody Greenberg for hearing the protest and breakdowns. - Rick Dominique, PRO

Sunday, October 17:

Teams were again greeted by typical KP Fall conditions. Winds from the NW, shifting to WNW, then NNW, then back again made conditions tricky, and physical with winds mostly in the 12-18 knot range, but with some gusts in the mid-20's. There were no protests filed, and no breakdowns needed to be awarded. There was one OCS.

Congratulations to Georgetown on their win over St. Mary's by tiebreaker! Congratulations to Leo, Ben, Emma and Ellie of St. Mary's on their A-division win as well as to Gavin, Colin and Catherine of Navy on their B-division win.

Thank you again to Mr. Woody Greenberg for serving as our judge this weekend, as well as to all the USMMA Midshipmen that gave up their weekend to serve on our race management team. - Rick Dominique, PRO

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
