Kings Point Dinghy Open

Summary

Saturday, October 2:

8-15 knots out of the East brought great racing for competitors. Both A and B Div got off 10 races on a trapezoid course. Due to the consolidation of SUNY and KP events this weekend, there were 22 teams in the rotation. With this, team received "byes", when they were boats 21 and 22.

Breeze was variable in pressure and angle, but predictable as they were consistent shifts. Current became a factor later in the day, as breeze shifted right, and race course moved farther out into the channel. Hobart, Jacksonville, and Coast Guard round out the top three, with home team, Kings Point in fourth. Thank you to Kings Point Midshipman for support throughout the day. See everyone tomorrow!

Sunday, October 3:

Regatta concluded Sunday with 1 race for both divisions. Breeze was light from the from the West. Fleets were AP on shore until noon, where RC was able to get one race in. Congrats to Hobart for winning the event, and strong performances from Jacksonville and Coast Guard to round out the top three. Thank you to all Kings Point Midshipman for help this weekend.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
