The 80th Professor Schell Trophy started off with lots of breeze from the east at 18-20 but began to fade as the day went on. Fortunately, the monsoons let up as well and the sailing was pretty darn astounding. Lucy Charles supervised in the starting boat while Oaklin Keefe was assisted by Saleh Anderline, Emily Scherer, Julia Wyatt and Raymond Huffman in the finish boat and updating tech score. Britt Hall and Kyle Triggs were judging and had one protest and one request for redress to hear.
The Yale Bulldogs are trying hard to finish their winning season in style and lead the defending champs Brown and Dartmouth going into the second day of competition. Eight more races tomorrow and the fall dinghy season will be completed.
Absolutely stunning conditions with temps in the mid 60s and a breeze which started in the high teens and faded to about 5 knots from the west by the final run to the finish. The Yale Bulldogs ended their Fall season in style taking home the Professor Erwin Schell Trophy after 36 races were completed on the Charles River. Brown edged out Dartmouth on a tie breaker to finish runner-up and third while Roger Williams had a fantastic day and climbed into fourth place overall.
The winning squad from New Haven were Shaun Harvey and Sonia Lingos-Utley in a tough battle in A Division and Jack Egan and Catherine Webb who also won their B Division. Connor Nelson and Julia Reyneolds from Brown took A Division honors in a very tough fleet of New England's finest college sailors.
Our volunteers all returned for a second day and we have great appreciation for their assistance, Britt Hall and Kyle Triggs were judging while Oaklin Keefe was assisted on finishes by Charles Lindsay. Taylor Martin from Maine Maritime was the ICSA rep and Matt Lindblad did a great job of mark tweaking while Lucy Charles kept the racing rolling without delay while some biker dude tried to call the starting line.....

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
