A perfect day of racing at the Women's Showcase Qualifier B, hosted by Brown University at the Ted Turner Sailing Pavilion '60 at the Edgewood Yacht Club. Temps were in the mid to high 70's with a mainly southwest wind with some big southeast and west/southwest puffs that made for shifty and tricky racing at times. Winds ranged from 10-18 knots and all W4 courses were sailed with A-division in FJs and B-division in Z420s for 10 races in each division.
A huge thanks to our judges: Megan Roach, Maxine de Havenon, and Sophie Hibben. They heard one protest that was disallowed between Boston College and MIT in race 2B and one breakdown was awarded to Brown's A-division in race 6A for a snapped jib halyard wire.
Thanks to photographer Rob Migliaccio for taking photos throughout the day that will be posted to the NEISA Facebook page soon. Thanks as well to MIT Coach Mike Kalin for being the ICSA Rep and to the Edgewood Yacht Club and Edgewood Sailing School for the use of their powerboats for coaches.
The Brown Bears lead both divisions and have the overall lead with 5 races in each division left. Race 11A is scheduled for 10am.
It was another great day of sailing at the Women's Showcase Qualifier B at Brown. Sunny with temps in the low 70's and the breeze was the total opposite direction from Saturday and out of the north/northeast. It started out breezy at around 15 knots and slowly died throughout the day to around 5-6 knots in the lulls. Very puffy and shifty conditions on W4 courses with A-division in Z420s and B-division on FJs. 5 more races were sailed in each division to complete the rotation.
A huge thanks to our judges: Megan Roach, Maxine de Havenon, and Sophie Hibben. No protests were filed and no breakdowns on Sunday. Thanks to MIT Coach Mike Kalin for being the ICSA Rep and to the Edgewood Yacht Club and Edgewood Sailing School for the use of their powerboats for coaches. Thanks to all of the Brown sailors that helped out throughout the weekend as well: Rachel Foster, Severin Gramm, Aidan Biondi, Jack Papetti, Sloane Kratzman, and Paul Secchia.
The Brown Bears won overall and both divisions. Congrats to the top 9 teams for qualifying for the Women's Showcase Final at Navy in two weeks.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
