Today was a gorgeous, summer like day at the Sherman Hoyt Trophy at the Ted Turner Sailing Pavilion '60 at the Edgewood Yacht Club. After a long delay with no wind to start the day, temps reached the 80's and a decent southerly breeze filled in at 1pm. Winds ranged from 5-8 knots and 8 races were sailed in each division on W4 courses with A-division in FJs and B-division in Z420s. No protests were filed and one breakdown request by BU in B-division will be heard in the morning.
Thanks to Preston Duclos for being our judge and keeping things fair on the water. Thanks as well to BU Coach Stan Schreyer for being the NEISA Rep and to Brown sailors Jed Bell '22, William George '23, and Severin Gramm '23 for helping with Race Committee.
Yale leads after today and tomorrow's first race is scheduled for 10am with a similar forecast of beautiful weather and a building southerly.
It was another beautiful day at the Sherman Hoyt Trophy with perfect racing conditions and temps around 80 degrees again. The first race started at 10am in a southerly breeze around 8 knots that steadily built up to 12-14 knots for most of today's racing. National Championship style races were run that were 20 minutes in length on W4 courses with some extremely tight racing amongst NEISA's best teams. Eight more races were sailed in each division with A-division in Z420s and B-division in FJs.
A huge thanks to Preston Duclos for being our judge and hearing a few protests and breakdown requests today. Thanks to BU Coach Stan Schreyer for being the NEISA Rep and hearing protests along with Justin Assad and Colin Merrick. And thanks to Brown sailors Spencer Dellenbaugh '23 and Mo Lou '22 for helping with Race Committee today.
Congrats to Yale for winning the 2019 Sherman Hoyt Trophy over the Brown Bears. Yale finished 3rd in A-division and won B-division with Brown winning A-division.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
