NYM Fall Open

Summary

Saturday, September 28:

Sailors arrived to a beautiful fall weekend Saturday in the Bronx. The sun was out and the breeze was southerly ranging from 8-12 kts. Racing was held in the cove South East of the Throgs neck bridge which provided much better conditions than the river making the long sail out well worth it. 6 races per division were sailed before lunch and 6 more after lunch. With only 15 teams due to no shows we only have 3 races scheduled for tomorrow.

Huge thanks to the SUNY Maritime sailors for doing an outstanding job of race management.

Sunday, September 29:

Breeze was a steady 15kt easterly which provided great racing in the cove. Racing started promptly with only 3 scheduled per division. Racing was concluded by 11:30. One protest was heard and disallowed. Thanks to Dave Coughlin, Brad Adam, and Geoff Loffredo for serving as jury.

Congrats to the privateer rookie team for winning the NYM Fall open, and Cornell teams for finishing second and third.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
