Nevins Trophy

Summary

Saturday, October 5:

Sailing under sunny skies, 10 races were completed in both divisions in 4-12knot NNE-ly winds. All teams were ashore and on their way to dinner by 1645. With the breeze coming off the Academy, there were big shifts and big changes in pressure. With an outgoing tide, forcing boats over early, nearly all races in the morning were started under an I-Flag. After lunch, the current died off and switched, allowing the PRO to drop the I-Flag. There were no protests filed and no breakdowns. Thanks to the KP midshipmen for giving up their day to run the regatta.

REMINDER: TOMORROW REPORT TIME IS 1000, DUE TO THE ELECTRICAL WORK BEING DONE ON CAMPUS.

Sunday, October 6:

What a great day of sailing under overcast skies in 14-22 knot winds from the south! We did see one guest to 28kts, but for the most part the breeze was high teens to low twenties. There were 2 protests filed resulting in one RAF and one DSQ. Two breakdown requests were granted for broken jib halyards. Congratulations to Hobart-William Smith on their convincing win. Thanks to our friends from the "great white north" (U. Ottawa) for making the trek to KP for the event, as well as the KP midshipmen for running the event. Thanks to all the visiting teams for their patience with our electrical situation. A watch was found by the soda machine on Sunday. contact Rick Dominique to identify the watch and arrange for its return: Dominiquer@usmma.edu

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
