It was a tricky first day at the 2019 Laser South and Navy Women's Open. We began the day postponed ashore until a light 3-5 knot NW breeze filled in and we headed out into the Severn River. 2 Races were completed before a SE breeze began to fill and made the racing unstable. We came in for a short lunch break before heading out near Greenbury Point to race in a 4-8 knot SE breeze. It was puffy and shifty all day with significant powerboat chop. After 4 more Laser Races and 3 Z420 races, the conditions deteriorated to the point that racing was called for the day.
Sunday started out with 3-5 knots of breeze out of the NW and close to a knot of current in the same direction. We set a course in the Severn River and ran 1 long, slow race before the wind got too light to keep sailing and we went in for a short lunch break. After lunch, we headed out to the Chesapeake Bay and races in a 4-8 knot ENE breeze. The wind held and we were able to complete 6 more 420 and 7 more Laser races, with the last start going off seconds before the cutoff time. Congratulations to Navy for the win at home!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
