Moody Trophy

Summary

Saturday, September 28:

18 teams were treated to ideal sailing conditions on Salt Pond. A division got in 9 races and B division had 6, B will start the rotation tomorrow. Brown and Stanford are tied for the lead, looks like a great day tomorrow.

Sunday, September 29:

Another great day on Salt Pond. The strong southerly breeze of Saturday gave way to a gusty but dying northerly that slowly swung right all day. Stanford slowly but surely pulled away to a nearly 30 point win over Brown, who edged Yale by a point. No protests were heard over the course of the regatta, an indication of the quality of the 18 boat fleet. Special thanks to all the URI sailing team members who helped run the regatta, not the least being the group went through the effort of moving our dock in and out as the tide changed to facilitate crew changes on the water.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
