A full round robin of 28 races was completed today in southerly winds of 10 to 15 kts. There was one race re-sailed to satisfy a red-flag protest. The first to 2 points semi-finals begins tomorrow, followed by a first to 2 points finals. Thanks to our PRO, Umpires, and other race staff for a day of great racing.
I apologize that I do not know how to enter a best of three knockout series into this program, so I'll just narrate it.
It was another beautiful, sunny day of sailing today in 6-12 knot N to NNE-ly winds for the Semi-finals and Finals. In the semi-finals, #1 Georgetown chose to face #4 Kings Point, so #2 Fordham faced #3 Hobart/William Smith in the first-to-2 points series. Georgetown defeated Kings Point 2-0 and Fordham defeated Hobart/William Smith 2-0.
In the Finals and Petit-finals, Hobart/William Smith defeated Kings Point 2-0, including an come from behind victory in race one, and Georgetown defeated Fordham 2-0 for the MAISA Match Race Championship. Congratulations and good luck to Georgetown and Fordham at the ICSA Match Race Nationals!
Thanks to our PRO, Bill Siener, mark-set guru, Larry Kennedy and the Kings Point midshipmen for their dedicated RC work. Also thanks to our umpires; Don Makowiecki, Paul Gilman, Hugh Dougherty and Gary Dougherty for keeping the sailing fair.
