Danmark Trophy

Summary

Saturday, September 28:

Saturday was a beautiful day on the Thames River! Southerly breeze all day that was shiftier than normal. Breeze built to the mid-teens at times and there was a strong ebb most of the day that made for some interesting starts. Ten races sailed in each division. There were 3 requests for redress granted in race 7B.

Special thanks to LT Brad Brown, CGA '15 and his team of CGA Sailors on RC and Bob Austin-LaFrance for being on the water and hearing protests. Divisions will switch fleets Sunday and hope the Northerly lasts for a while!

Sunday, September 29:

Sunday was another great day on the Thames River, although much different that the day before. The Southerly on Saturday gave way to North/Northeast breeze in the morning of about 8-12 knots. The wind actually hung in there longer than anticipated even as the velocity decreased. The ebb current increased throughout the day, making for some tough final races and interesting windward mark roundings. Eight more races were sailed in each division for a total 18 in each division.

Special thanks to LT Brad Brown, CGA '15 and his team of CGA Sailing Team members for working hard on the water. Bob Austin-LaFrance for being here on the water judging and to Matt Lindblad, MIT for keeping me on track all weekend as ICSA Rep.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
