It was a beautiful day for sail boat racing, and power boating, today on the Severn River. The morning started off with an 8 knot southwesterly and four races were completed sailing off Triton Point. After a brief lunch break, the wind clocked right to a west north west direction allowing six races to be held in the river. There were six protests and one breakdown request filed. A huge thanks to our team of coach jury members who heard the plethora of protests: Catherine Shanahan, Zach Runci, Johnny Norfleet, Charlie Lomax, Bradley Adam, and Quentin Chafee. Racing will resume tomorrow with some sporty conditions forecast!
You have to love it when a forecast is accurate. Today was a 18-15 knot northwesterly. The decision was made to leave the FJ fleet ashore, so the format for racing switched to 2-on-2-off. Thank's to the help of several volunteer coaches who operated two extra safety boats, four races in each division were able to be completed. No protests were filed and one breakdown was awarded for a broken hiking strap that was deemed to be necessary today. Congratulations to the St. Mary's Seahawks for winning the 2018 Truxtun Umsted Coed Showcase!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
