Ten teams competed in the 2018 SAISA Women's Open Qualifier for Showcase Events. The day started with a south easterly breeze that progressively shifted around to a south westerly breeze. Most of the day was very light and variable ranging from 3-6 kts until the last B set, with a threat of thunderstorms impending, where it reached a staggering 10 kts, maybe 11 kts. Thank you Allison Jolly for bringing us a horn box, acting as SAISA rep, and helping us keep our sailors safe on the water. Thank you to all the other coaches and team representatives for helping make smart, safe decisions about the weather. Thank you Greer Wattson for managing operations on shore and helping me stumble my way through my first college competitors meeting in a number of years. Finally, thank you weather for holding off as long as you did and giving us just enough wind to sail. Great job to all the teams competing today! We will see you all again tomorrow at 9am to complete our rotation.
The second day of the Women's SAISA Open Qualifier for the Showcase Events was relatively smooth sailing. Breeze was very similar to Saturday, it began with a southeasterly breeze and clocked slowly around to the Southwest ranging from 3 kts to maybe 9 kts with large holes of no wind on the course. Thank you again to everyone who contributed to the success of this event, Allison Jolly, Greer Wattson, the Eckerd Triton sailor volunteers, Sam Shannon who let us use his boat in very clutch moment, and all the competing teams and coaches. Congrats to the College of Charleston Cougars, University of South Florida Bulls, Jacksonville University Fins, and Eckerd College Tritons for qualifying for the Showcase Events later this fall. Great job to all of the teams that competed this weekend! Go SAISA!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
