With a great breeze forecast for the day and a smaller number of teams we decided to attempt to complete the NYM Fall in one day.
Sailors first launched and raced in the river with an extreme amount of current and light breeze. Quickly it was apparent that conditions would be much better in the Cove on the East side fo the Throgs Neck Bridge.
After towing the fleet up to the cove, 6 great races were sailed in zero current and 5-8 knot shifty breeze before lunch.
After lunch break and the divisional swap racing resumed in the river with 8-12 knots and lots of favorable current for the final 6 races of the event.
All racing for the regatta was completed shortly after 4:00pm, no protests were filed, and one competitor retired after finishing.
Congrats to the Hobart and Williams Smith Sailing Team for winning the 2018 NY Maritime Fall Open
Huge thanks to Maisa Rep Dillon Paiva and the hard working crew of SUNY Maritime Cadets who were instrumental in getting all of the races completed promptly.
Regatta was completed on Saturday.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
