Carl Van Duyne MAISA Men's Singles

Summary

Saturday, September 22:

On the first day of the Carl Van Duyne MAISA Men's Singlehanded Championship, the course was initially set in the mouth of the Severn River off Bembe Beach for a northerly breeze. During the first race, the wind shifted northeast and we moved the course out into the Chesapeake Bay, just past Greenbury Point. The wind quickly built and the next 7 races were run in 15-20 knots with 2-3 foot waves. All races were on course W4. Peter Hogan and Hamrick Morgan were on the water judging, but didn't need to issue any rule 42 penalties. They heard one protest after racing, resulting ion a DSQ for Hobart's Jake Vickers in race 3.

Sunday, September 23:

Sunday was cool and rainy all day. The course was set in the bay, just past Greenbury Point again and the breeze was from the northeast at 7-15 knots with 1-2 foot waves. One BKD was awarded for blocks pulling out of the deck. Congratulations to the top 5 for qualifying for the Laser Performance College Sailing Nem's Singlehanded Nationals and to Leo Boucher from St. Mary's for winning the 2018 Carl Van Duyne MAISA Men's Singlehanded Championship.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
