The remnants of the overnight offshore greeted the competitors from eight schools when they arrived at the Rickloff Community Boathouse. After the skippers meeting the A Fleet headed out into Presque Isle Bay in a dying breeze as the offshore backed to the north. We did two A Fleet races in light and patchy air. By the end of the second race the northeasterly sea breeze built to 6-8 and stayed there reliably for the rest of day. Lunch was provided by the Erie Yacht Club and teams were able to eat when they were in the off rotation. Courses were all W4's with the exception of one W2 in the morning. 12 races were completed. No protests were filed, though a few teams did some turns on the water, and there was some bailing in one or two of the boats. Thanks to our P.R.O. from EYC and the people on the committee boats, markset boat, and safety boats for keeping the course square and for moving the racing along!
Tomorrow's weather looks to be similar to today -- Sunny with a sea breeze. Arrival time will be 9:30 tomorrow, and we'll plan to do four more races in nice air to complete the round robin.
Teams arrived at 9:30 on Sunday to flat water with the breeze trying to start. Boats were at the line by 10:30 and two A Fleet races were sailed in light and variable conditions. By the time the B Fleet went out the wind was building but still shifty. During the last B Fleet race the wind filled and the race finished fast. 4 races were sailed by 12:45, completing one full round robin and the regatta was finished. Congrats to Syracuse who held onto first place over RIT by one point! Army came on strong in the last four races and sailed past Gannon for a third place finish.
Thanks again to the members of the Erie Yacht Club for running a quality regatta, and to the three local teams for providing team members to rig boats and handle everything on shore.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
