Racing began this morning with a steady 5-10 knots out of the Southeast. 4 races were sailed before breaking for lunch. During the lunch break some weather moved in close by and some lightning kept everyone on shore for a little while. Around 3:00 teams were able to get back out for some more racing. During the afternoon 5 more races were completed in a shifty 3-8 knot Southerly. After 9 races Stanford has a big lead going into Sunday. A big thanks goes out to the Sugar Bowl Committee, Southern Yacht Club, and the Tulane Sailing Team for getting in races in tough conditions.
Racing again got underway right at 10:30. For much of the day a shifty 3-7 knot Southerly again provided tricky conditions. At a couple points the breeze had very large shifts and would die below the wind minimum and races was halted temporarily. After 5 races, lunches were brought out to the sailors and everyone ate on the water. The breeze increased to around 12 knots in the afternoon but had significant fluctuations in strength and direction. Fortunately the final four races were able to be completed before the 3:00 cutoff.
Stanford again dominated the day and pulled away with a well earned victory. Congrats to Stanford's low-point boat of Wiley Rogers and Victoria Thompson, as well as the University of South Florida's Marina Barzahgi and Darby Capellin for winning the Rees Trophy as the low-point women's boat.
Again many thanks to the Sugar Bowl Committee and Southern Yacht Club for hosting a great event, providing lunches to all competitors for both days, the coffee for the coaches, excellent race management, and southern hospitality.
And congrats to the Tulane Green Wave for hosting their first regatta as a Varsity sailing program.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
