The 2018 GLIOR Regatta presented to you by Skyway Yacht Works, Quantum Sails, Beamsterboer Slag Inc., and Mauri Pro Sailing; hosted by the Chicago T10 Fleet in association with the Chicago Corinthian Yacht Club and the Northwestern University Sailing Team. Sunny, no clouds, and around 80 degrees of air temperature set us up for a great day of sailing. After an approximately 30 minute AP delay, all 19 boats were on the water by 9:30am heading to the course. Winds were variable NE between 5 and 10 knots throughout the day. Wisconsin lead throughout the day, the next 5 spots on the scoreboard were highly contested and at one point during the day determined by a 5 way tie breaker. Racing concluded around 4:30pm, teams headed back to the CCYC club for a debrief by Quantum Sails. We are excited to get back on the water tomorrow, and determine the victor!
The second day of sailing at the 2018 GLIOR was one of many surprises. The University of Miami (OH) was unable to get out on the water due to two team members falling sick, leaving the fleet with one less boat at 18 boats. The morning was slow, with winds out of the northeast at 4 knots for race one... building throughout the day to nearly 12 knots for the last race. There was some shift towards shore (west) throughout the day, but overall relatively stable breeze. Air temperature was similar to Saturday, warm and humid, the lake temperature at a refreshing 69 degrees. The University of Wisconsin held their lead throughout the day, Michigan State continued to be a close second. After a general recall in race one, the race committee raised a U flag which caused some teams to be DSQ'd. After 3 solid races, the race committee sent the fleet in. Awards occurred promptly at 4:30pm, no protests were filed for the day. Thank you to the Chicago T10 Fleet for their support, Race Chairman Steve Karstrand, Race Co-Chairman Nick Zomer, and PRO Joanne Guennewig for all their time and support of this event!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
