A very light northerly gave way to a 5-7 knot seabreeze with longer than normal oscillations for the Charles River. Cloud cover inland eventually made the heat pump stop working and the breeze turned off.
The first women's regatta of the new academic year had 16 very competitive teams sailing in FJs and Fireflies. More racing on tap tomorrow with the Divisions switching boat types. Many thanks to Stan Schreyer who was our icsa rep while Hugh Dougherty helped out and did a great job running races.
Toni Deutsch MIT '58 was an instrumental leader of women racing at the highest level in intercollegiate sailing. She was the first woman at MIT to earn a varsity letter under the tutelage of MIT's first Sailing Master, Jack Wood.

A light northerly breeze which eventually gave into the seabreeze made for some challenging conditions for the sailors as well as the race managers. Seven more races were completed to get a total of 15 completed in the weekend. A Division raced Fireflies today and B Division sailed in the turbo FJs. Lots of very tight gate turns and finishes were enjoyed throughout the event.
Boston College dominated with a 46 point margin over Dartmouth Big Green. Isabella Loosbrock and Emma Perry won A Division while Sophia Reineke and Alice Bohan took B Division honors. The Harvard Crimson tokk third overall just 11 points behind Dartmouth.
Franny Charles and Hugh Dougherty shared the race management duties. Dan Rabin and John Ingalls heard the one protest filed in the regatta.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
