With gusty wind out of the West, we started racing promptly at 10:00 on Saturday. We completed several races before stopping for lunch (and a small thunderstorm) at 1:00. Four teams were back out on the water and ready to race when the wind disappeared. We called it a day around 2:30, with the Minnesota Gophers 2 in the lead with no losses so far!
Everyone arrived to much chillier weather on Sunday to get ready for the first warning at 9:30. The West-Northwest wind was patchy, blowing around 8 knots with gusts up to 15 knots. We were able to finish up our second and third rounds by 1:00. Congratulations to Minnesota Gophers 2 for taking first place! Thanks to the Grinnell College and University of Wisconsin sailors for coming out! Thank you to our volunteers Hans Zinn, Jenny Wilson, Luke Plunkett, Shelby Davis, Jessica Haverstock, and John Wicks for all your help. Finally, a huge thank you to our PRO Mark Dunsworth for running a great regatta!
