Pere Marquette

Summary

Saturday, September 30:

Eleven teams reported to the Milwaukee Yacht Club at 8:30 to the best weather Pere Marquette has had in several years. Winds were a little light in the morning but gradually grew throughout the day into ideal sailing conditions with about 10 knots. Races went off steadily all the way to 5pm, finishing 8 races in A division and 6 races in B division on our modified windward/leeward course with a gate below the line leading into an upwind finish. We want to thank all the competitors for getting in a full day of racing with no breakdowns and no protests to be heard.

Sunday, October 1:

Racing resumed at 1000 on Sunday and sailors were greeted with the same sunny weather and more wind with an average of about 15 knots for the day. We finished up 4 races in B division and 2 races in A division. Sailors got off the water around 1 to find an impromptu barbeque we decided to throw after forgetting the cream cheese in the morning. The award ceremony followed.

Congrats to Wisconsin Badgers 1 for winning both A and B division to take 1st overall and winning the Pere Marquette Cup! UW-Milwaukee and Wisco 2 filled out the rest of the podium, taking 2nd and 3rd respectively. Also a big thanks to our PRO Steve Dolan and Willie Rozanski for their work on Race Committee, Dick Kinney for helping out on the rotation boats, and MYC for their hospitality and resources.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
