The East River was glassy when sailors arrived. A decision was made to postpone ashore and wait for the wind to fill. A light breeze filled in around 2:00pm and the fleet sailed 1A in a 3-6 knots from the West. 2A was attempted and then abandoned.
At around 4:00pm, the southerly filled in at 10 knots and 2A races and 3B races were sailed before sunset. Rotation was amended to have the first A/B set to be a 3 race set in order to complete an official regatta by the end of the day. The remainder of the event will have 2 race sets.
PRO Hobie Ponting was assisted on the water by a hardworking group of SUNY Maritime Cadets and Judge Tony Weiner. Racing will begin tomorrow at 9:30am.
Light and variable winds dominated the morning hours. At around 1:00pm, a Southerly filled in and sailors left the basin at 1:15pm. The breeze filled at 10-12 knots and race 4A began around 1:45. The first attempt at 4A was abandoned due to a moving mark. At 2:00pm, time only allowed for one A and B race before the 3:00pm cutoff time. Race 4A was restarted and followed by 4B. There were no protests filed.
Thank you to the SUNY Maritime Cadets, PRO Hobie Ponting and Judge Tony Weiner for running the event in challenging conditions on the East River. Congratulations to the top 7 teams for qualifying for Women's ACC's!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
