It was a great day to be Team Racing on the Thames River. The Connecticut College Camels had our 2nd Annual Tailgate (Sailgate, suggested by RW). Many Burgers and dogs served to Parents , Alums and Sailors. The Sailing started in a North Breeze at 6-8, slowly dying and switching to a SE Breeze at 3-5. The Current was moving fast on the River due to the Full Moon tide. 24 Races where Sailed in Round 1. The conclusion of Round 1 will be Sailed on Sunday with the hope of Sailing a 2nd Round. Thanks to Umpires, Bryce Kopp, Ben Myers, Kelsey Wheeler, Bob Lafranze, and Chief Umpire John Moulthorp. Big Thank You to the Camel undergrads for doing RC. Fall Back tonight! Report Time is 9:30am.
Sunday started with a Dying North breeze switching to East with a mixing of ESE. Not a great wind direction for the mighty Thames. We sailed 1 race in the dying North and decided to postpone until we had something more. After a 2 hour delay the ESE came and stayed for a few hours @ 3-5 knts . Sailing was going fast, until the wind started to pulse, with the time limit being close. The RC decided to stop the event at race 16 in the second round. Races from Round 2 will be used as tie breaks, if needed. Thanks to Chief Umpire John Moulthorp, Bryce Kopp, Bob Lafranze, Kelsey Wheeler, and Ben Myers. Thank you to CGA for loaning the Camels an extra motorboat and RW for the Drone footage. A big Thank You to the Conn Undergrads that helped with RC. Congrats to the Camels for Winning the 2017 Hap Moore. We are excited to Host the Team Racing NE in the Spring. Go Camels!
