Great breeze for day 1 of the Fall Pacific Coast Championship. Breeze came up about 11am from the ssw at about 4-5 knots. The first two races were sailed in that as the breeze began to shift to the sw and turn into a nice fall sea breeze maxing out at about 10-12 knots. 6 races were sailed in the C division, while b completed 5 races and A division finished 4 races. B and A fleets will start racing tomorrow. One protest was filed which will be heard tomorrow at report time.
The second day of the Fall Pacific Coast Championship brought less desirable conditions with a cloud ceiling that left the ocean glassed over. After attempting to set a course in a south easterly breeze that was extremely light, an on the water postponement commenced. The sailors were eventually sent to shore to be greeted by a southwesterly breeze shortly after. It filled at about 4-7 knots allowing for the race committee to finish 3 more races for the a division, 2 for b and 1 for c. It was very tight racing for the top spot with the Cardinal ultimately prevailing by one point over the Gauchos in the end and coming down to the finish of the last race.
One protest was heard and disallowed.
The event is also scored with only two divisions for intersectional berth selection seeding.
