Sailors and Race Committee battled a very fickle and light Southeasterly breeze today. Only 3A and 2B races were completed. A Division sailed FJ's while B sailed Z420's. Courses were Mostly W4's with a couple W3's. One race was abandon due to a late wind shift which compromised the race course. Races were started in wind above the minimum wind strength with some races of those races having moments of very light air. The on the water judges of Caleb Dorfman and Abby Coplan carefully watched races to make sure everything was fair. No protests were filed and no breakdowns were reported. Race 3B will start at 10:15am tomorrow with a fleet switch.
What a great day of sailing on the edge of Short Beach Cove. Sailors were greeted with a 10-15 knot WSWesterly and large waves with racing starting at 10:30. 10 B races were sailed along with 9 A races. The last races sequence was started at 2:55. Half way through the day the breeze picked up to 15-17 knots and subsided as the sun began to fall. All courses were W4's. One protest was heard which was disallowed. There were no breakdowns filed. Any issues were quickly handled on the water. All coaches were on the water thanks to our friends at the Coast Guard Academy who bright over a large inflatable. And many thanks to Adam Werblow From St. Mary's for serving as the ICSA rep and ably assisted on the tight quarters of the RC boat both days. At the end of the day the top three teams in each division were awarded Helly Hansen bags. Congratulations to the Yale Bulldogs for winning the 2017 Yale Women's Regatta who edged out 2nd place URI by 10pts and 3rd place BU by 11pts.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
