Day 1 of the SAISA Fall Women's Championships was less than optimal. Hoping to capture a late-afternoon seabreeze, report time was 2pm, but the dying gradient northeasterly refused to give up. One race was sailed in the 3-4 knot NE wind. A promising westerly seabreeze developed around 5pm, and one more race was sailed, but then several micro pop-up rainshowers in the vicinity killed that off. With Sunday's forecast looking even more bleak, sailors patiently (?) waited until 6pm, when another weak seabreeze tried to form. A third race was finally sailed, ensuring that the regatta would at least be scored. Three protests were filed, but not heard since the involved party withdrew. Day one leader: College of Charleston.
Day 2 looked slightly more promising, with a light 5-6 knot northeasterly. Racing began, and races 4 and 5 were unremarkable. By 11am, the wind shifted to the east and began dying with a relatively strong flood current. Races 6 and 7 were sailed in a minimal 3 knot breeze, and with that, racing was called.
All courses were W4, averaging 17 minutes. No protests.
Thank you to ICSA rep Mitch Hall and to the other coaches for assisting.
Congratulations to winning team College of Charleston, plus University of South Florida and Jacksonville University for qualifying for the Women's ACC's November 12-13 in Charleston.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
