A southeasterly breeze filled in just after the report time for the 2016 Laser South Regatta and the competitors headed out to sail four races off Bembe Beach in the morning in 5-10 knots of breeze. After a short lunch break, we headed back out to a new course set in the Chesapeake Bay off Greenbury Point. Three more Races were completed in 12-18 knots of southerly breeze and 2-4 foot waves. Three broken top sections in race 7 prevented any more racing for the day. David Clinnin was on the water enforcing rule 42 all day.
The wind came from the NW on Sunday and we were able to get racing right away in the Severn River right off the Robert Crown Center. WE had one more broken top section in race 8, but the fleet held together for the most part for the rest of the day. The wind was puffy and shifty, starting out at 8-12 knots, increasing to 15-22 mid day and backing off to 3-8 by the last race.
The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
