Nevins Trophy

Summary

Saturday, September 17:

Light start to the morning but then the southerly filled in around 1145. We had great racing with wind anywhere from 8-13 knots. Courses were KP traps all day. We sent A and B in for lunch after 2 races then C in after 4. After race 6, A and B rotated off the dock for a quick break. We finished the day with 10 races in each division.

Tomorrow we will start the day with 1 protest and 2 redress hearings.

Thank you to the KP Midshipmen for helping run the event.

Sunday, September 18:

Great day of racing at USMMA. The Westerly held strong for most of the day providing shifty and puffy conditions with winds ranging from 4-13. The last set the wind started to shift to the South keeping regatta management on their toes till the end. We sailed 6 races in each division ending with 16 total for the event. All races were sailed on the KP Trap. A and B Division sailed Z420 and FJ and switched boats on Sunday.

Thank you to Charles Higgins, Amanda Callahan, Chris Klevan, and Zach Runci for helping with protest and redress hearings. The protest was disallowed, four BKD's were given in C division and 2 BKD's were disallowed in the double-handed divisions.

Thank you to KP Midshipmen for helping run the event. Congratulations to Yale for winning the 2016 Nevins Trophy!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
