Fall Fury

Summary

Saturday, September 10:

Eight races were completed in the A fleet through 4 rotations. The B fleet completed 3 rotations and 6 races. Both fleets were sailing 420s and all races were W4’s sailed just past the mooring field in front of Memorial Union. The sailors were met with scattered showers that cleared as the day carried on. In the morning teams dealt with variable winds ranging from 8-16 mph. As the day went on the showers cleared and the wind steadied out to 14-18 as it continued to build until racing finished around 5pm. Two redress requests were heard. At the end of the day Wisco 1 leads the regatta with Milwaukee in a close second. We would like to thank Cappy Capper and Alina Dix for acting as judges and extend an additional thank you to Alina for being our PRO.

Sunday, September 11:

Today brought a lighter breeze than yesterday out of the south 8-13 mph. The skyline of the city made for a more oscillating breeze and tricky conditions that tested the sailors patience and awareness. Due to the southerly breeze we finished sailed W5's when sailing in to rotate. Unfortunately we were one race away for each fleet from finishing the whole set but were able to get 11 great races off for each fleet

Congratulations to UW Milwaukee on winning this years Fall Fury regatta and a huge thanks to Alina Dix for being our PRO for the weekend as well as all the Wisco sailors who helped both on shore and on the water.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
