Northwest breeze at 5-12 knots eventually backed left towards the west as the day went on. Vertical mixing of the air masses was challenging for the competitors on the Charles River. A Division sailed in MIT FJs on an outer trap and B Division sailed in BU FJs on an inner trapezoid. Livestreaming was provided by the MIT Ocean Engineering Department from a drone. The Yale Bulldogs lead both divisions after 10 races with MIT, College of Charleston, Tufts, and Dartmouth all within striking distance with 8 remaining races scheduled for tomorrow.
Mike O'Connor along with Juan Crestanello managed the start boat while BU's Cam Fraser, Robby Gearron, and Sam Wright managed the finishes and scoring updates. Wally Corwin and Ian Campbell helped keep everything flowing on the dockside at the MIT Sailing Pavilion.
The champions of the 43rd Annual Atlantic Coast Dinghy Championship will be awarded the Fiske, Harriman, Sleigh Trophy which honors three college sailors who lost their lives in the Vietnam War.

Warmer temps with abundant sunshine brought more comfortable conditions in a 5-11 knot westerly on the Charles River. The Tufts Jumbos and Charleston Cougars had a late rally but fell short of the Engineers from MIT who won by a margin of 11 points in a very challenging field of competitors. Charles Lomax and Gabrielle Neubelt from the US Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point took A Division honors and MIT's Trevor Long with Paige Omura won B Division. This is the first time in 43 years of competition that the MIT team has won this fall championship for the Fiske, Harriman, and Sleigh Trophy.
Thanks to the MIT Ocean Engineering Department for assisting with livestream drone coverage throughout the regatta. Sunday's racing may be reviewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnyIBUW9qt0&feature=youtu.be Saturday's races may be reviewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zTboppmaqU&t=11s
The BU Sailors Charlie Welsh, Liz Glivinski, James Collins, John Wetzel, and Cam Fraser were outstanding with finish line duty and updating tech score immediately after each race. Harvard's Mike O'Connor tweaked marks today while Franny Charles was managing the RC signal boat along with Alex Stewart. Jeff Dusek, Sam Madden, and David Larson were on the water to enforce Rule 42 all weekend and hear protests. They had no business in the room and only two whistles on the starting line on Saturday. The racers enjoyed sailing with Appendix T-1.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
