A feeble seabreeze finally filled into the Charles River Basin at 1 in the afternoon. B Division sailed in Turbo FJs and A Division sailed Fireflies. Long courses were set with trapezoids. The starting line was very crowded which showed a high skill level by all sailors.
Toni Deutsch '58 was the first woman to receive a varsity letter at MIT. She was a member of the varsity sailing team all four years and sailed in the national championship 3 of her 4 years. Toni continues to be an avid supporter of MIT and athletics with a particular interest in the sailing program.
Racing today went smoothly today with special gratitude to the volunteer assistance of Alex Bost, Sarah Owen, and John Michael Reyes.

A misty, moist day with a fairly steady breeze from the ESE at 8-10 kts made for nice sailing with few recreational sailors on the Charles River. The Bowdoin Polar Bears took the trophy home with consistent second place scores in both divisions. Robyn Lesh and Libby Zhang from MIT won A Division while Lydia Grasberger and Meredith Harrington from BU took B Division.
Many thanks to MIT students Jamila Smith-Dell, Jorlyn LeGarrec, Sophie Goemans, and Moseley Andrews who took finishes and managed scoring.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
