NEISA Women's Singlehanded Championships

Summary

Saturday, October 3:

Sailors arrived to NNE winds sustained at 27mph, gusting into low 30s. Postponed ashore indefinitely. Breeze increased as tide came in. Racing canceled for the day at 3p with sustained wins above 30mph and gusts above 35mph.

Sunday, October 4:

For the fourth consecutive day, the breeze was up out of the NE to start the day - sustained at 28-32mph, gusting into the mid to upper 30s, forcing a short postponement. Finally at 11a, the breeze started to back off and racing began at 11:30 in NE wind at 25mph, with puffs into the low 30s. Six races were sailed and the top four pulled away early, leaving the fifth and final berth for Singlehanded Nationals up for grabs into the last race. Congratulations to Brown University's Lindsey Baab '18 on a perfect event, winning every race from start to finish.

Many thanks to all who helped make this challenging event a success including judges Sam Madden (Tufts '15) and Will Bailey (BC '15); NEISA Rep Jeff Bresnahan; teams who brought or loaned power boats - Coast Guard, Connnecticut College, Harvard, and MIT. And special thanks to some of college sailing's biggest fans, the members of Savin Hill Yacht Club.

Representing NEISA at the 2015 ICSA Singlehanded Women's National Championships will be:

2015 NEISA Women's Singlehanded Champion Lindsey Baab '18 Brown; Dana Rhode '18 Coast Guard; Isabella Loosbrock '19 Boston College; Charlotte List '18 Connecticut College; Taylor Ladd '18 Harvard

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
