Getting out on the sound at 9:30ish, with a shifty wind of 11 knots, the MAISA Laser Eliminator had a good first day. 10 races were sailed, 4 before lunch and 6 after, with racing finishing around 4:45.
As stated, large wind shifts were a problem, but races remained equal and only one race was recalled due to a shift at the start. Race committee did an efficient job keeping the course square, despite the shifts in wind and major reset of the course after coming in from lunch.
The second day of the MAISA Laser Eliminator saw fair winds higher in the morning but finishing at around 8 knots. There were 4 races finished before lunch and and 6 sailed after lunch.
The race committee did an efficient job setting the course, which was changed minimally throughout the day. Some rotation issues presented themselves, but were solved on the course and n TechScore.
Congratulations to our top qualifiers who will be moving on to Van Dyne Trophy at Kings Point. 1. Nevin Snow/ Georgetown 2. Jack Marshall/ Georgetown 3. Connor Swikart/ Hobart 4. Clay Broussard/ Georgetown 5. Ethan Lounsbury/ODU 6. Joseph David/ ODU
The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
