The regatta began later than expected, due to a lack of wind and storms on the radar, but after waiting, course boats went to set up marks at approximately 11:30 with an Easy wind at about 11 mph. The first race kicked off at approximately 12:15.
After a few technical difficulties (broken mast, missing batton), the races began, taking approximately 20 minutes each. Minor wind switches and major current opposition caused many course changes throughout the day, but the race committee was able to adapt.
A total of 10 races (5 rotations) were completed, and exhaustion versus the unfavorably weather tomorrow were the main components if the decision to come in at about 5:30pm.
After waiting until 1:00pm for the wind to fill in and the first race to be started, wind switches again hindered the start of the 11th race of the regatta. Finally, with an unusual and light wind blowing on the sound, races began.
After several starting general recalls, the I-flag was put into effect, and remained in effect for the remaining races. A total of 4 races were completed, bringing the total amount of races sailed to 14 over the course of the 2 day regatta.
Race Committee staff and regatta staff moved marks according to the switches, and were able to continually effectively adjust the course throughout the day. Overall, Laser North at Kings Point has some great sailing, and although the wind was light, competition was still heavy!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
