Eight races were completed in both divisions today. W4's were the course of choice today. The breeze started out just north of east at 6-7 knots and gradually moved right to SE at 12-15 knots with terrific waves for surfing downwind. The I Flag flew all day which helped keep boats back off the line with the out going current. There were a total of three general recalls and many individual recalls. The judges flagged at least 3 boats for violating rule 42. Hot off a great Spring season, the Coast Guard Bears currently lead the regatta with the up and coming BU Terriers in second. The Yale team needs to thank the Coast Guard Academy for supplying a great coach boat for the event as well as Judges Max Nickbarg, Euge Custo-Grieg, Marlena Fauer, Graham Landy, Kyle Kovacs and Abby Coplin and Mike Kalin for acting as ICSA Rep. Two protests were filled resulting in a DSQ.
Racing started at 10:40 in a great 10-12 knot ESE breeze. All races were started under the Iflag and sailed course W4 all day. 4 races were completed before a short lunch break then 3 more races were sailed in a decreasing southeasterly. Typical Long Island Sound waves from the easterly stayed around all day even during race 15 when the wind decreased to 5-7 knots making the upwinds difficult. Congratulations to the US Coast Guard Academy for winning the Harry Anderson Trophy for the First time.
Two requestes were filed and heard and one was granted redress while the other was a reinstated score.
Again we cannot thank the US Coast Guard Academy enough for the use of their inflatable which served as a coach boat. We had an all-star group of judges who enforced rule 42 with most calls happening mainly on the starting line. They were, Kyle Kovacs, Abby Coplin, Graham Landy, Caleb Dorfman, Marlena Fauer, Max Nickbarg, Euge Custo-Greig and Will Feldman.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
