SAISA Conference Championship

Summary

Saturday, November 1:

Competitors were greeted to very windy conditions in the morning. A strong cold front was sweeping through the area and brought strong northwest winds in excess of 25 knots. 2 A races were completed. The course was a gold cup. Competitors were planing on the reach and the gybe mark became a graveyard for some teams. It was decided that B fleet should not go on the water and so we postponed ashore until 2pm. By 2pm the breeze had not backed down enough for a B race to be safely completed. Racing was called for the day. Some sailors headed to North Beach at Fort DeSoto to enjoy activities more suited to high wind.

Sunday, November 2:

Sunday brought lighter conditions from the North. This made for extremely puffy and shifty wind. The RC was keep on their toes adjusting marks. The course was mainly W4s and W5s. We had 7 races in each division. Several protests were heard but all were disallowed. One incident between USF and C of C resulted in an RAF for USF. Congrats to the Cougars for the win and for making it to the regatta despite major transmission problems on Sunday morning. Thanks to all the teams that came and good luck to the Cougars, Tritons, and Bulls as they head to ACCs.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
