Day one of the Navy Fall Women's began under cloudy skies and some showers with temperatures in the mid 50s. After a 0930 competitors' meeting, the fleet was sent out on Annapolis Harbor in a light North/Northeasterly breeze. After several attempts to get things going, and several recalled races due to less than adequate breeze, the course was moved into the Severn River just off of the Robert Crown Center. The river brought an increase in pressure and a shift to the North/Northwest, which allowed us to get underway. Three trapezoid courses were completed in each division before a short lunch break. After lunch, 6 additional races were sailed on the river before the breeze eventually faded below a sailable level at around 1645. All races were trapezoids and all sets consisted of three races with competitors able to change their StayMasters in the Z420s at will. After sailing, the ladies were treated to a complimentary BBQ, hosted by the NASS Social Committee. One protest was filed in race 3C, resulting in a DSQ. A huge thank you to guest PRO Kyle Assad for getting in 9 quality races across all divisions in some less than ideal conditions. Another thank you to our team of Midshipmen for moving marks in the shifty breeze and to Fordham Coach Johnny Norfleet and HWS Coach Danny Thompson for hearing protests.
Sunday brought the ladies of the Navy Fall Women's regatta a bit more sunshine and even more breeze. At 0930, sailors were sent out onto Annapolis Harbor just off of Triton Point where a lovely trapezoid course was eagerly awaiting them. At around 0945, racing got underway on that very same trapezoid in a Northerly breeze raging from 8 to 12 knots. After three races in each division, the fleet was sent in for a quick lunch break. After returning to the trapezoid they missed so much, the sailors then completed 3 additional races after lunch just as the breeze was fading for the day. In all, 15 races were completed in each division, all on trapezoid courses, utilizing three race sets and with adjustable shroud lengths on the Z420s. Three protests were filed after sailing in races 11C, 12A, and 15B resulting in two being disallowed and one DSQ. A huge thanks to the squad of Midshipmen for moving marks and to coaches for hearing protests. Congratulations to the St. Mary's Seahawks for winning the 2014 Navy Fall Women's regatta!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
