A light east wind eventually built to 10 knots as the day went on. A Division sailed in Fireflies and B Division sailed in Turbo Tech Dinghies. Ten races were completed and tomorrow will bring a fleet switch and seven more races. Three teams were a no-show. MIT leads the day with BC close behind. Tufts and Harvard are locked in a tight battle for third and fourth overall.
Many thanks to Libby Zhang, Kayla Ngan, Chloe Lepert, Tucker Charles, and Wally Corwin helped out in keeping the race management efficiency high.

Chamber of Commerce conditions prevailed on the second day of the Smith Trophy. The Boston College Eagles rallied to overtake the MIT Engineers for the overall trophy. The Tufts Jumbos also clawed to within a point of the home team under a west wind at 12-15 knots with 100% sunshine. The trophy honors a distinguished Professor Emeritus of MIT who dedicated many weekends serving as RC at home events. Professor George Warren Smith also raced his star boat out of Sandy Bay YC into his nineties.
Many thanks to Greta Farrell, Clemmie Mitchell and Tucker Charles who assisted with RC duty today.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
