The first day of the 2014 Carl Van Duyne MAISA Men's Single-handed Championship was a chilly and wet day in Annapolis. Temperatures remained in the 50s and 60s throughout the day while the sky was overcast and the rain came on and off. In the morning, the wind was from the NE at around 10 knots and PRO Juliet Thompson set a course in the Chesapeake Bay for the 17 Lasers in attendance. Four races were run in the morning while the wind shifted steadily left and the conditions became puffier and shiftier. After a break, the afternoon racing was held in the mouth of the Severn River, just inside Greenberry Point. It was really puffy and shifty for the afternoon races and four more races were completed. Special thanks to Chris Barnard for coaching from the extra Laser in the afternoon to keep the rotation intact. Six more races are scheduled for Sunday.
Sunday was still cold but much sunnier and drier than the day before. Gavin O'Hare served as PRO for Sunday with help from Trisha Kutkiewicz '09 and Christina Chance '10 on Race Committee. David Clinnin was on the water judging all day. The wind started out from the NE at 10 knots plus but faded as the day went on, eventually dropping to nothing as the final race of the regatta finished. Congratulations to Will Holz, Addison Hackstaff, Brendan Shanahan and Nevin Snow for qualifying for the 2014 ICSA Laser Performance Men's Singlehanded Nationals.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
