SAISA Men's Singlehanded

Summary

Saturday, September 28:

Racing began at 10:30 in a light oscillating easterly of 4-5 kts, which gradually increased to 10-12 kts through the afternoon. Between races 2 and 3 the fleet was chased ashore by an approaching storm that passed quickly, and racing resumed at 12:30. A full rotation of 11 races was completed at 16:30 on a modified windward-leeward course. Two breakdowns were recorded and redress was given for two additional equipment issues. An unrepairable boat after race 8 resulted in byes being given in races 9-11 for that boat. No protests were filed.

Thanks to the UMiami afterguard and team members who helped to run a smooth series. Special thanks to Mitch Hall of College of Charleston who ran the coach boat and efficiently managed the fleet rotations. UMiami gratefully acknowledges the support of the U.S. Sailing Center for allowing us to run the event out of their facility.

Congratulations to Chris Stocke of USF for taking home the championship, and to College of Charleston sailors Enrique Arathoon and Charles Rees who also qualified for the singlehanded nationals.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
