A cold and windy day in Newport for the first day of the College Sailing/Laser Performance Men's Singlehanded National Championship. Sailors braved temps in the 40's (without the wind chill) and a westerly breeze between 14 and 20 knots with some puffs in the mid 20's. Lots of capsizes and 6 races sailed on W4 courses. One protest was filed resulting in a DSQ and one redress was given for a breakdown. Thanks to judges Peter Johns, John Pratt, and Anderson Regio. A huge thanks to Salve Regina University and all the Brown Sailors for running the races.
Greg Martinez from Georgetown leads after the first day. First race scheduled for 10:30am on Saturday.

One protest was filed resulting in a DSQ and one redress was filed and not granted. Thanks to judges Peter Johns, John Pratt, Kerry Sullivan, and Elizabeth Barry. A huge thanks to Salve Regina University and all the Brown Sailors for running the races on another really cold day on the powerboat.

The final day of the College Sailing/Laser Performance Men's Singlehanded National Championship brought warmer temperatures and great conditions. Temps were in the 50's and winds were from the Southwest at 12-18 knots with a strong flood tide for most of the races. Five of the final six races were sailed on W4 courses, and the last race (#18) was a W5 course. No protests or breakdowns.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
