Winds were out of the southwest between 8-10 knots and W4s were used. A division started in the new fleet of FJs while B division sailed 420s. Four B races and 6 A races were completed before a squall line caused the fleet to return to the J. Stewart Walker Sailing Complex. After a short delay, sailors returned to Crab Bank to continue racing through 8A and 8B in winds 13-16 knots using course 5 (Gold Cup). A division was sent in while B division caught up in the racing. The sailors enjoyed the ‘gamey’ conditions created by the strong ebb tide and sea breeze as they turned the corner into the marina.
A slowly building northwest wind allowed for great racing in the Cooper River. The divisions swapped fleets of boats to make the racing fair and square. Winds ranged from 8-12 knots and races were completed through 15A and 15B using W4s. The flood tide continued to increase causing several general recalls and a persistent I flag. It was great to see all 36 boats maneuver around the course despite the tricky conditions. The sea breeze began to fight the northerly causing the race committee to call racing for the day. Thank you to all the Cougars for helping run a great event and congratulations to the College of Charleston for winning the 2012 SAISA Open.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
