The Hewitt Trophy also known as the Northern New England Champs had 15 teams arrive to cold and windy conditions at Bethel Point. Eight races in each division were completed in breeze that ranged from NW to NE at 5 to 15 knots with a heavy ebb tide. Courses were W-3s, W-4s, and W-5s.
A big thanks to the Polar Bear Nation that helped run the land operations and Ben Mende '13 for running scoring and Mike Komar from Salve for serving as NEISA rep. Right now the northern alliance is holding down the top three spots, but there should be plenty more racing tomorrow.
Another wet and cold day of racing at Bethel Point. Four races were completed in 3-5 knots out of the North. After a short delay, the breeze filled in from the West and four more races were completed in a soaking rain. A big thanks to all the Polar Bear undergraduates that helped run the land operations and Fiona Gordon for moving marks in the rain all weekend.
The Polar Bears were able to overcome the Catamounts and win the 2012 Hewitt Trophy.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
