The backside of a strong cold-front left Mascoma Lake with cold temps and no wind for the start of the Mrs. Hurst Bowl. Eventually a light Northerly filled and pulsed through the racing area for a few hours. Though three races and one sequence were abandoned, we were able to get four races in each division. We hope for better breeze tomorrow.
At 8:30am, the forecasted ENE breeze showed signs of filling and the RC boat was anchored on station. Unfortunately, that fill did not happen and the familiar sit-and-wait ensued. Eventually a SW breeze filled nicely, and A division got one race in before that fizzled. At 2:00, A division was sent to the dock in an effort to get B division a race to match the one that A had completed. The one B race that started was abandoned at 2:50 when Mascoma once again went glassy. The day was called at that point. Congrats to the lady Camels for winning their second Mr.s Hurst Bowl in a row.
