Saturday: The first day of the Yale Woman's Inter-sectional brought strong, gusty winds to Granite Cove. Four races were completed in A division and two races in B division. The sailors initially headed out around 10AM before being sent in shortly thereafter due to extremely strong wind that made sailing dangerous. Sailing was postponed until 2:45, at which time A division went out. Wind was from the North and Northwest at between 10 and 30 knots, with large puffs frequently rolling through the course and causing numerous capsizes and wipeouts. There were numerous capsizes in each race in addition to six DNF's, two DNS's, and one RAF. There was one protest filed in race 4A that will be heard at 9AM Sunday morning.
Sunday: We began the day with a 10 knot westerly which slowly shifted left and built to 15-20 knots from the SW with nice sized waves. 1 flag was thrown for excessive pumping downwind and in total 3 protests were filed resulting in 3 DSQ's. All courses today were W4's. Many thanks to our judge Peter Johns. Also a big thank you to the Connecticut College Camels for the use of their whaler as a coach boat. Congratulations to the Yale Women for their first Intersectional win of the year!
