SATURDAY
The breeze filled in late on Mystic Lake around noon. The wind ranged within about 70 degrees at times, but got more consistent as the day progressed. It eventually settled into a variable 5-7 kts from the southeast. It was a great New England fall day with moderate temps and abundant sunshine. 10 races were completed, taking an average of 17 minutes each. 6 races in A-Division, 4 races in B-Division. Finish times ranged within 3-5 minutes of first competitor to cross to last. Plenty of penalty turns allowed for no protests. The RC thanks competitors for settling it on the water. One breakdown was awarded in the last race for a loose rudder bracket on one of the otherwise “nuclear bomb-proof” Larks. Bern Novak commented on his respect for Ken Legler’s steadfast loyalty to the boat. Ken PRO’ed in the morning, but turned it over to Hans Tiefenthaler ‘09 and Robby Moore ’09 after 2 PM so he could attend a wedding in Newport. They are single. Thanks to our line boat judge Adam Weisman allowing for fair starts and only one general recall with a 24 boat fleet. Also, thank you to Roisin Magee, Jaime Altreuter, and the Jumbo frosh who got us lunch. Lara Hwa ’09 and Anna Martin ’07 were present. Looking forward to tomorrow and Ken will be back to finish the event in what looks to be much wetter weather.
SUNDAY:
After a short postponement, racing began at 11. SE winds held steady at 5-10. Roger Williams sailed beautifully today, pullung away from the pack. There were a number of breakdown requests, all denied. No protests.
Congratulations to the 2009 winners of the Hood Trophy: Roger Williams University.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
